Mar­cel Schmieder

Marcel Schmieder was born in Dresden in 1983. He studied law at the Technical University of Dresden and completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court in Dresden. During his legal clerkship, Marcel Schmieder worked for an international law firm in Singapore and worked on cross-border cases both in and out of court, in particular with regard to the international arbitration rules (SIAC). He was admitted to the bar in 2011. Marcel Schmieder obtained the title "Certified Restructuring and Reorganization Expert" in 2016, "Certified Specialist in Commercial and Corporate Law" in 2019 and "Certified Specialist in Medical Law" in 2023. He has been working for BSKP since 2024.

As a specialist lawyer for commercial and corporate law with additional qualifications in insolvency law, he has been advising small and medium-sized companies on everything from company formation, company succession or mere capital investment to restructuring and reorganization. He also specializes in medical law, with a focus on advising on the succession of doctors, dentists and pharmacists as well as the transfer of joint practices.
